Fried Pasta Cake

More of a technique than a recipe. Please ration your ingredients to correspond with how much pasta you estimate you're using. The ingredients below are based on one pound of pasta (which is usually an entire package).

Ingredients
salt
1 pound spaghetti or capellini (angel hair)
extra-virgin olive oil
2 cups of tomato sauce or up to 4 eggs
1 cup finely grated Parmesan, plus more for serving
Optional: 1 tablespoon chili paste or 1 teaspoon red-pepper flakes
