Shrimp in Tomato Saffron Aleppo Pepper Sauce
Inspired by Epicurious.com's Shrimp with chunky Tomato-Saffron Sauce
Ingredients:
1 pound of shrimp
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 small red onion (or medium shallot)
1/4 cup white wine
1/4 cup water
large pinch of saffron
two pinches of aleppo pepper (or crushed red pepper flakes)
1 14.5-oz can of diced tomato
3 large garlic cloves, minced
*Or, use a can of diced tomatoes with green chiles, instead of plain tomatoes with a pinch of pepper flakes
